The Advent of Advent
The Christmas season comes upon us so quickly and goes by us in a blur. This year, we are presenting pre-Advent activities, or The Advent of Advent. Take some time to recapture the innocence and joy we all remember, Center yourself before it gets too hectic so that we can Celebrate Advent with the Heart of a Child.

The Christmas Experience:
The Christmas Experience is a small group study that examines the Christmas story in detail, helping groups prepare for the Christmas season. Those participating in The Christmas Experience study will be able to find themselves in the Christmas story as they learn that what happened then changes everything now.
Friday, November 6th: This is God’s Plan?
The circumstances of Christ’s birth have been softened by the passage of time, but for Mary and Joseph, there were a real test. Abject poverty? Scandal? Political upheaval? A torturous hundred-mile journey at the height of her pregnancy? God didn’t even arrange for a room at the inn.
DINNER: Bring your favorite appetizers; beverages and dessert provided.
Friday, November 13th: Immanuel
A tiny baby, lying in a feeding trough, wrapped in rags by his exhausted parents. Not much to see if you’re looking with the eyes of man. But look with the eyes of God, and you see a supernatural celebration beyond the scope of human imagining.
DINNER: Dinner provided, Mac & Cheese, beverage and dessert.
Friday, November 20th: Gold, Frankincense, Myrrh
As a two-year-old Jesus toddled through the streets of Nazareth, he and his parents receive an exceptional entourage of guests — wise men from a distant country, bearing gifts of great significance. But Myrrh and embalming ointment? What did this say about the divine destiny of their son?
DINNER: Salad bar: salad provided; bring your favorite add ins. Dressings, beverages and desserts provided
Each week we will meet at 6 p.m. for dinner and fellowship. The study will begin after dinner when we will watch a short video followed by an interactive discussion. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the sheets in the Fellowship Hall.
